Aquaponics 101

Happy Fish, Happy Harvest records Matt Spalding’s aquaponics adventures here.

A long string on a forum indicates Tasmanians have been trying out their own aquaponics adventures. But what is it?

Aquaponics is a way to grow food that creates a cyclical system in which you can grow fish AND plants at the same time. If you’re new to the concept read on and dig down into the links in this blog post.

There are three components; the plants, the fish, and the systems. The Plants, The Fish and The Systems.

I will be interested to learn more about this way of growing food – and introducing more biodiversity into a garden. If you are interested to start your own aquaponics system then read Farm Style’s advice.
