Brussel sprouts – who doesn’t love them!

Fellow Food Garden volunteer at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens  (RTBG) recently visited and took a few photos. R says ‘…look at those Brussels! Adam told us that they are actually fairly heavily infested with aphids (we cut a sprout open to have a look at and yes, inedible, unless you like a little cooked aphid with your sprout). So he trimmed the leaves off to give them this sculpted effect. He was very pleased with the result!

Yes lots of us love eating Brussel sprouts so it is no surprise that garden critters love them as well.

Maybe these strange ‘creatures’ would give Triffids a run for their money. Well done R!
