Thanks to friend C’s Facebook I now know how to make apple cider vinegar. I thought this might interest you. The video, which you can watch here, was made by Hobart Herbalists without Borders.

I am only familiar with clear apple cider vinegar but it seems the final product from this home based process is cloudy. While I love the sparkling clarity of the vinegar I buy,  how marvellous to use fruit that would have been wasted, and to know exactly what is in the vinegar. I plan to try out the process with some of my granny smith apples – if I can find any that are a bit runty.
